CEBU Pacific passengers heading to Davao will have to present negative COVID-19 swab test results before being allowed to travel, as the airline reiterated that rapid test results are not accepted.
In a statement, Cebu Pacific said passengers will have to submit COVID-19 reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results taken within the past 48 hours.
“The Coronavirus Antibody Blood (Rapid) Test IS NOT ACCEPTABLE… Guests without the Swab Test will not be allowed to board the flight,” the announcement read.
“Passengers are STRONGLY URGED to check with the concerned local government units first prior to departure as they may have specific requirements and regulations,” it added.
Cebu Pacific also urged passengers to check the real-time flight status, and to refrain from heading to the airport unless the flight is verified and confirmed.
Cebu Pacific – along with AirAsia and Philippine Airlines – earlier appealed for the government to provide P8.6 billion in assistance to the airline industry given losses incurred due to the coronavirus pandemic. (GMA News)
