ILOILO City – A 64-year-old woman died after a cement mixer truck ran her over in Barangay Ungka, Jaro district.
Virginia Arquio of Fairville Subdivision, Santa Barbara, Iloilo was trying to cross the street outside Christ the King Memorial Park when she was hit at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a police report showed.
Her lifeless body was found behind the truck (next to one of the rear tires) driven by the 34-year-old Ronald Galito of Pavia town. Arquio sustained a crushed skull.
Galito told the police he did not notice the victim. He then claimed that his vehicle ran over the woman only because she was already on the ground after another car hit her.
Police traffic investigators were still looking into the incident as of this writing./PN
