Ceneco intensifies campaign on electricity bill payment

Bacolod City-The Central Negros Electric Cooperative(Ceneco)is intensifying its campaign in collecting payment for the electricity bill of the member-consumer-owners(MCOs) to avoid disconnection.

The electric cooperative reminds the MCOs that upon receipt of their electricity bill within nine days they have to pay their bills.

“Your electricity bill must be paid within nine days after it was rendered,” Ceneco officer-in-charge(OIC) Jose Taniongon pointed out.

He said, “a notice of disconnection is rendered on day 10, counting from the day the bill was rendered.

“Disconnection of electricity service is carried out two days after the MCOs received the notice of disconnection,” the Ceneco OIC stressed.

He advised them to pay their electric bills through online payment methods or at Ceneco offices and accredited collection centers.

On the other hand, the Ceneco Union of Rational Employees (CURE) has voted to go on strike concerning the alleged failure to implement the P15,00 Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) approved in September 2021.

Taniongon explained that among the reasons the cooperative was unable to give the employees’ benefits under the CNA was a condition set by the National Electrification Administration (NEA) – Ceneco’s collection efficiency should be 95 percent.

Ceneco had only hit 92 percent collection efficiency in December of last year, although Taniongon expressed confidence that they would be able to hit the required 95 percent this month./PN
