Ceneco lowers May power rates

BACOLOD City – The Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) announced recently that their overall electricity rates had decreased by P0.0764 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) this May.

Ceneco’s downward adjustment for this month is P11.0280 per kWh, lower compared to April’s P11.1044.

Roel Venus, chief of the Ceneco Member-Consumer Integrated Services Division, said the decrease of power cost is attributed to the reduced transmission and universal charges.

He advised the consumers to regularly monitor their monthly electricity usage.

“Consumers must look at their kilowatt-hour consumption and not the amount,” Venus stressed.

The amount may vary depending on the pass-through charges, he added.

Ceneco franchise areas are the cities of Bacolod, Silay, Talisay, and Bago including the towns of Murcia and Salvador Benidecto.

“We encouraged our consumers to conserve energy so that they will avoid paying high electricity bills,” Venus said./PN
