BACOLOD City – Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) is increasing its power rates by P1.8789 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) this August.
The rate for this month is P12.3724/kWh, higher compared to last month’s P10.4935/kWh.
According to Ceneco general manager Danny Pondevilla, the increase in generation charges was a result of an increase in the market price due to the damaged submarine cables of the National Grid Corp. connecting the islands of Negros and Cebu.
The preventive maintenance schedule by the Palm Concepcion Power Corp. and adjustments approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission also contributed to the power rate hike, he added.
On the other hand, the Ceneco is now accepting online registration of its member-consumer-owners (MCOs) who would want to join the 43rd Annual General Membership Assembly (AGMA) on Sept. 26, from 12 noon to 5 p.m.
Registration may be done via agma2021.ceneco.ph.
For manual registration, Pondevilla said,. they have to visit their respective barangay halls and fill out a registration form.
The hotline 458-6777 local 1303 can also cater to inquiries./PN
