ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Government, through the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), is urging the public to observe cleanliness while celebrating the Dinagyang Festival.

Along with the General Services Office and Beautification Department, CENRO aims to ensure that the city remains sanitary for both locals and tourists.

The CENRO eyes to set up 85 portable toilets all over the City Proper district.

Engr. Neil Ravena, CENRO head, said there will be more than 500 personnel deployed to ensure the cleanliness of the old business district.

To add, over 200 sweet sweepers will be dispersed around the city roads.

The CENRO will also place trash bins on designated roads.

Ravena noted that they expect to collect about 50 to 60 tons of Dinagyang trash.

Lastly, the CENRO officer called for the public to be responsible while attending the festivities, such as by throwing their trash in designated places and avoiding urinating in public places.

The Iloilo Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office earlier reminded attendees to adhere to the Clean As You Go principle in festival venues within its jurisdiction. (With reporting from Radyo Pilipinas Iloilo)/PN
