CenterPhil, City High make 2-0 charge in Primes Cup

CENTERPHIL Montessori Silver Knights and Iloilo City National High School kept their unbeaten records in the U18 category of the Primes Cup 2018 Season 2 basketball tournament on Sunday at the Sta. Clarita Gym.

Led by Kenneth Napud and Sean Patrick Tigres, who scored 8 and 7 points, respectively, Silver Knights cruised to its second straight win at the expense of Sta. Clarita/PRISAA 66-61.

Both teams had a tight exchange from start to finish before Silver Knights came up with late hits from Tigres to escape with the win. Franc Steven Tono led Sta. Clarita with 14 points.

Iloilo City National High School also headed to a 2-0 start in the tournament after a 42-35 defeat of Hijas.

In other U18 matches, Sta. Clarita/NBTC banked on Gian Paul Nahine and Wilmer Dalumpines for a 62-34 win over Iloilo Doctors College.

Iloilo Sacred Heart pulled off a 46-42 win over La Paz while Iloilo National High School edged Jalandoni National High School 68-53.

In the U15 division, Sta. Clarita/PRISAA walloped Doane 95-60; Sta. Clarita-A ripped Hijas 60-36; Jibao-An edged La Paz 46-42; University of San Agustin trampled on Sta. Clarita-B 55-39; Integros A dominated Jalandoni National High School 72-27; and Integros B thwarted Sta. Clarita-B 52-50.

In U12 results, University of San Agustin romps past Hijas 55-14 on Saturday while PAREF-Westbridge escaped with a 27-11 victory over Hijas on Sunday./PN
