Ceres bus operator provides aid for crash victims 

BACOLOD City – The Vallacar Transit, Inc. (VTI), operator of Ceres busses, will provide financial assistance to the victims of the deadly accident in Antique province, as well as shouldering medical and burial expenses. 

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Dec. 6, the VTI management stated that the bus, which was carrying 28 individuals, was on its way to Culasi from Iloilo when it accidentally fell off a ravine resulting in serious injuries and casualties.

VTI’s branch, administrative, and maintenance managers, operations personnel, liaison officers, and nurses from both the West and East branches were immediately dispatched to the location of the incident to assist the victims. 

The management has assigned personnel to be on standby at the hospital for further updates and assistance, it said.

VTI also expressed their most heartfelt apologies for those who were involved in the incident, as well as sending their sincerest condolences to the bereaved families. 

“Rest assured that we are doing everything that we can to make sure that this is being handled properly and carefully,” the VTI said.

The management guaranteed the riding public that they were taking all the appropriate steps to ensure that their buses were roadworthy and well-maintained.

VTI immediately reported the incident to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and expressed willingness to cooperate with any investigations the board will be conducting. 

In coordination with the LTFRB Region 6, the management has decided to voluntarily suspend all operations of the remaining units under the franchise involving Case No. 11-VI-021-AK pending investigation, wherein the bus involved in the incident had been a part of./PN
