BACOLOD City – The woman who struck Superintendent Luisito Acebuche on the face with a flashlight was charged with resistance and disobedience to a person in authority.
Those were the cases the city prosecutor approved.
They were filed against the 40-year-old Rosebel Narciso of Barangay Mandalagan and her 16-year-old son.
Narciso owned one of the electric tricycles (e-trikes) that the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) confiscated due to violations.
On Thursday Acebuche filed direct assault and obstruction of justice.
City Legal Office (CLO) head Joselito Bayatan confirmed the charges were downgraded, but a physical injury charge will be filed once the result of the medical exam on Acebuche is out.
“We will just wait for the medico-legal findings on the eye injury of Acebuche,” said the city government lawyer.
Both Narciso and her son were charged because the latter was driving the e-trike while the former was the operator, Bayatan said.
They violated City Ordinance No. 270, the lawyer said.
Narciso was detained in the lockup cell of Police Station 3. Her bail was set at around P5,000.
Narciso struck Acebuche with a flashlight on the face around 8 p.m. on Wednesday while the latter was explaining to her why her e-trike cannot be released. Her son also punched him on the nape, the BTAO head claimed./PN
