CHARO Santos took to social media to pen a reflection about the yesteryears in time for her upcoming birthday.

“Friends, let me share a story from my youth. When I was younger, at a pier in Mindoro returning from Manila, my father left me and my siblings to collect our bags. Suddenly, stevedores and pier thugs began to stare, and fear crept in, tightening around us,” she recounted.

“We screamed for help, and in that moment, my father turned, his voice calm yet commanding as he shouted, ‘Suntukin niyo.'”

The Kapamilya actress and executive shared that she had an immense realization at that moment.

“In that instant, I realized a simple yet profound truth: whatever I needed to get out of that tight spot, I already had within me. We stood our ground, and those thugs shriveled away, retreating like shadows chased by the light,” she recalled.

Charo remarked that the lesson she gained from that experience was something she brought along with her in her life’s journey.

“I have carried that lesson with me throughout my life. It has lifted me to my highest highs and steadied me through my lowest lows,” she said.

Charo remarked that she wanted to impart this message to her followers to mark her birthday.

“As my birthday approaches, instead of receiving a gift, I want to give you one. Whatever you’re facing right now, remember this: YOU HAVE EVERYTHING WITHIN YOU TO OVERCOME IT!”

Charo recently achieved a new milestone after becoming a Philippine Air Force Reservist. She graduated from the PAF Reservist training on October 19.

“It’s never too late to start something new, to challenge yourself, and to keep on growing,” she posted on social media upon her graduation.

She recounted: “[It was] a journey that was as rewarding as it was challenging. There were moments when I doubted myself, wondering if I could meet the demands, but I embraced every challenge, pushed forward, and found joy in each step of the process.”

Charo is currently starring in ABS-CBN’s FPJ’s Batang Quiapo. (PUSH)
