ILOILO City – More than 12,000 job vacancies await job seekers at the 86th Charter Day Job Fair of the Iloilo City Government from Aug. 25 to 26.

Simultaneous with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) National Tech-Voc Day, the job fair today will be held at Robinsons Place Iloilo and at SM City Iloilo tomorrow, both from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

City Public Employment Services Office (PESO) head Gabriel Felix Umadhay said the job fair is open to all who are looking for local and overseas job opportunities.

Among the thousands of job opportunities available are those offered by business process outsourcing (BPO) firms, local companies and overseas agencies.

Local job openings include call center agents, sales representatives, cleaners, construction workers, salesmen, encoder, auditors, utility workers, and nurses, among others.

Umadhay said applicants should bring more than two copies of their comprehensive resume or biodata.

For his part, Mayor Jerry Treňas encouraged job seekers to take the opportunity and avail themselves of the available employment opportunities.

The traditional Charter Day job fair is part of the city government’s effort to provide job opportunities to the Ilonggos.

This year’s Charter Day celebration is anchored on the theme, “Trailblazing Ilonggos Leading the Way to Sustainable Progress.”/PN
