ILOILO City – This city’s 82nd Charter Day Job Fair is happening today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at SM City Northwing in Mandurriao district.
The endeavor is organized by the city government’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) with the help of the private sector.
Mayor Jerry Treñas encouraged job applicants to try their luck. Hundreds of job vacancies are available.
PESO has enjoined 22 local companies and seven international placement agencies to offer domestic and overseas employment opportunities.
This is one of the city’s initiatives to introduce inclusivity and a call for positive and results-oriented actions benefiting the majority, said Treñas.
“We want every Ilonggo to have much better lives as we continue to level up the city in all aspects,” he added.
The city government has initiated inclusive programs and projects to encourage people’s participation and multi-sectoral stakeholders’ support.
This year’s Charter Day theme, “Responsible and Responsive Governance”, highlights the efficient and effective delivery of public service to address people’s needs.
“I ask everyone’s help for the city to level up. Let us make it easier for people to avail themselves of the city government’s services,” said Treñas./PN
