BACOLOD City – A man with a gun and ammunition was arrested in Barangay 5, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
The 47-year-old Ereberto Valenzuela of the city’s Barangay 16 was caught at a police checkpoint around 9:45 p.m. on April 14, a police report showed.
When frisked, Valenzuela yielded a .45-caliber pistol, three steel magazines and 15 live ammunitions, the report added. He failed to show pertinent papers showing legal ownership of the weapon, police said.
The suspect was detained in the custodial facility of the Silay City police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
