Chief tanod stabbed to death

ILOILO – The chief tanod of Barangay Simsiman, Lambunao town was stabbed to death around 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28.

Joseph Palermo, 39, married and a resident of the said barangay, was killed in Barangay Poong.

The suspect was Vincent Ligo, 42, of Barangay Bontoc, police said.

According to Randy Luceño, an eyewitness, Ligo was walking drunk and stopped Palermo who was driving a motorcycle.

Palermo was taken to a hospital.

Police Corporal Risan Larroza, investigator of the Lambunao Municipal Police Station (MPS), said a hot pursuit operation was launched but as of this writing the suspect remained at large./PN
