ILOILO City – A Chinese national charged with swindling surrendered to the police here.
Edison Zhang, 26, a native of Shenzhen, China, was temporarily residing in a hotel in Barangay Taft North, Mandurriao district.
He was taken to the Mandurriao police station on July 27.
According to Police Station 5’s Police Major Rey Sumagaysay, Zhang had a pending arrest warrant issued by a court in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental for the charge of swindling (estafa).
The bail bond for his temporary liberty was set at P18,000.
It was unclear as of this writing if Zhang was able to post bail./PN
