ILOILO City – Choco Mucho Flying Titans and Chery Tiggo Crossovers are set to clash in a crucial Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference game on Saturday night at the University of San Agustin Gym here.
Both squads already assured of semifinals seats, the Flying Titans and the Crossovers are slugging out at six in the evening on Saturday for a better ranking in the playoffs round.
The Flying Titans, currently at second place with 9-1 win-loss slate, is one of the hottest teams in the league, winning nine straight games after losing their season opener against Creamline Cool Smashers.
The Crossovers, now at third spot with 8-2 record, aims to return to their winning ways after recently seeing their winning streak snapped by the defending champions Cool Smashers.
Chery Tiggo will play with three Ilonggas in their roster namely Ria Beatriz Duremdes, Princess Robles, and Ma. Shaya Adorador, while the Flying Titans will also have Ilongga Aduke Ogunsanya.
Aside from the three Ilonggas, the Crossovers’ roster will also feature Ennajie and Ejiya Laure, Joyme Cagande, Czarina Carandang, Pauline Gaston, Jasmine Nabor, Mylene Paat, and Jennifer Nierva.
The Flying Titans will also have a loaded roster in Cherry Rondina, Kat Tolentino, Bea de Leon, Madeleine Madayag, Regine Arocha, Jemenea Ferrer, Ma. Lina Molde, Cherry Nunag, Maika Ortiz, Toni Ponce, Caitlyn Viray, Denden Lazaro, and Deanna Wong.
In the first game at four in the afternoon, already eliminated teams Farm Fresh Foxies (2-8) and PVL newcomer Nxled Chameleons (3-7) will look to end their season on a winning note.
Meanwhile, PVL’s Iloilo game organizer Gametime Sports has reminded those who will watch the games live that backpacks are not allowed in the venue, while bottled waters and other beverages are also prohibited.
Use of flash cameras to take pictures during the matches are also not allowed, while courtside and ringside ticket holders must follow their assigned seat number, and re-entry from the game venue is not allowed./PN
