ILOILO City – Choco Mucho Flying Titans volleybelle Aduke Ogunsanya was delighted with the opportunity to play in front of fellow Ilonggos during the recent Premier Volleyball League on Tour here.
According to the Dumangas, Iloilo native, there was an added motivation for her after seeing the Ilonggo volleyball fans converge at the University of San Agustin Gymnasium.
“Of course, we are truly grateful to the fans because wherever we go, their support is always there,” said Ogunsanya, who received a plaque of appreciation from Gametime Sports founder Rodolfo Go Villaruz.
“We never lose respect for the support they give us, so we are thankful, and we hope to show the importance of that support,” added the former De La Salle University Lady Spikers standout.
Ogunsanya was one of the several Ilonggas who played in the game aside from Chery Tiggo Crossovers’ Buding Duremdes, Jennifer Nierva, Ma. Shaya Adorador, and Princess Robles.
Ogunsanya had a pivotal contribution during the Flying Titans’ 25-16, 25-19, 25-23 victory against the Crossovers as they secured their 10th consecutive win for a 10-1 record.
Ogunsanya emphasized that carrying this formidable winning streak into the playoffs serves as a substantial morale boost for the Flying Titans, marking their first semifinal appearance since the 2022 Open Conference.
“Of course, it’s a huge booster for us as we head to the semis. At the same time, our morale is high, and we hope to continue this momentum,” stated the Fil-Nigerian middle blocker.
“We are not complacent because there are still many areas we need to polish, but I am thankful for this win and grateful for the contributions of everyone who stepped onto the court,” she added.
