ILOILO City – The Criminal Investigation and Detective Group (CIDG) Region 6 needs detectives and special investigators.
“We need multi-talented and the best applicants kasi hindi lang simpleng pulis ang gawain. They will be trained on detective work against criminals. We need witty investigators because we are handling high-profile cases,” said Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, CIDG-6 director.
CIDG has 54 applicants so far. But Tayaba said they welcome more.
Tayaba said his office will reinvestigate crimes that have not yet been fully solved, including three high-profile ones.
The three were the unsolved assassinations of businessman Jimmy Punsalan; Superintendent Musa Amiyong, former intelligence chief of the city police; and Romeo Capalla, a former rebel and brother of the Ilonggo archbishop emeritus of Davao, Fernando Capalla.
Those interested should apply at the CIDG-6 office in Camp Delgado, the headquarters of the Police Regional Office 6 in this city.
An applicant should bring the following:
* college diploma
* transcript of records, and
* certificate of eligibility.
An applicant must be between 21 to 30 years old and should meet the height requirement of at least five feet, four inches for males and five feet, two inches for female.
Tayaba said applicants will undergo intensive training, including examinations on listening, reading and intelligence quotient.
CIDG-6 will be hiring 18 new detectives and special investigators.
“We hope to solve heinous crimes,” Tayaba told Panay News.
CIDG will be scouting for new witnesses.
Punsalan, a restaurateur and former officer of the now defunct Philippine Constabulary, was peppered with bullets on Aug. 7, 2013 in Mandurriao district while Amiyong was shot on Nov. 22, 2013 in Lapuz district.
Capalla, on the other hand, was shot to death in front of the public market of Oton, Iloilo on March 15, 2014./PN
