ILOILO City – With this city under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), the Archdiocese of Jaro would limit the number of parishioners to only 10 percent of the total seating capacity of churches.
According to Father Angelo Colada, director of the Archdiocese of Jaro’s Commission on Social Communications, “We will try our best nga mag-add more masses since amo na kagamay sang seating capacity.”
The archdiocese is also encouraging everyone to stay home and join masses online, Colada told Panay News.
It advised parishes, too, to have skeletal workforce in convents and offices to limit the movement of people, “as well as enhance the function of the Ministry of Hospitality and Sanitation.”
“We encourage parishes to communicate actively through your respective Facebook pages to inform parishioners about changes in schedules and activities,” the Archdiocese of Jaro said in an advisory.
Colada also appealed to the public to prayer for healing and protection amid the pandemic.
The limit in churches’ seating capacity will last until the MECQ is lifted, he said.
Colada clarified that the 10 percent seating capacity are only for city churches.
