City fire station logs 3 fire incident during Holy Week

ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Fire Station of the Bureau of Fire Protection recorded three incidents of fire during Holy Week, or from April 2 to 9.

These fires happened in Barangay Airport, Mandurriao district; City Proper; and Burgos, La Paz, said Senior Fire Officer 1 Jake Ronald Solis, arson investigator of the Iloilo City Fire Station.

Two of the incidents were structural fires while the one in La Paz was garbage fire, Solis said.

Structural fires mainly occur in a residential, commercial, or community-based building.

Iloilo City Fire Station records showed the first incident in Barangay Airport, Mandurriao involved a house in Escarilla Subdivision on April 6. The fire, which was “electrical in nature,” left an estimated P600,000 worth of damage.

A residential fire also occurred on corner Fuentes-Ledesma Streets in the City Proper on April 8. The city fire station valued the damage at around P500,000./PN
