ILOILO City – As highlight of Iloilo City’s 85th Charter Day celebration this year, the city government awarded corporations and individuals that are the leading taxpayers when it comes to real property tax (RPT) and business in 2021.
The awarding ceremony was held Thursday night, Aug. 25, at the Iloilo Convention Center in Mandurriao district during the Mayor’s Dinner.
Led by Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon and City Treasurer Jinny Hermano, the city government awarded plaques of recognition to the top 10 corporations and individuals for RPT and business categories.
The 2021 Top Taxpayers in Iloilo City for RPT are the following:

In his response message, PEDC’s First Vice President-Panay Site Head, Atty. Antonio J. Cabalhug, Jr., thanked the city government for recognizing PEDC as Top 1 RPT taxpayer and that they are grateful to receive the award.
He noted for the past years, PEDC has been one of the top real property taxpayers in Iloilo under corporation category.
“In the coming years, we will continue to fulfill our obligations and support the efforts and endeavors of the city government through a strong partnership,” he assured.

Treñas reiterated that for this year’s celebration, the city government highlighted its partnership with the private sector for its contributions to the city’s growth and development.
“They ensure that Iloilo continues to be relevant,” he said.
“With the help of these businessmen and corporations, Iloilo City was able to get a surplus of almost P500 million even at the height of the coronavirus pandemic,” the cit mayor added./PN
