ILOILO City – The city government and the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, Inc. (IDFI) agreed to institutionalize their partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd)-Iloilo City for the Dinagyang Festival.
DepEd-Iloilo City has been a partner of the IDFI and Iloilo City in staging the annual Dinagyang but this is the first time the partnership is formalized.
“This agreement is a belated recognition of the invaluable contribution that DepEd has consistently extended for the continued success of Dinagyang,” said IDFI chairman Ramon Cua-Locsin.
A memorandum of agreement was recently signed between the three parties represented by Mayor Jose Espinosa III for the city government, Cua-Locsin for the IDFI and OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Clarissa Zamora for DepEd-Iloilo City.
IDFI and DepEd agreed to render service and provide resources for the 2019 Dinagyang Festival on a voluntary basis.
The city government agreed to provide its two partners support.
Cua-Locsin thanked all school heads, teachers, students and parents for helping mount a world-class festival each year.
“Our strengthened partnership encourages IDFI to track responsive programs and projects that will ensure the continuity of Dinagyang Festival as a showcase of dynamic public-private cooperation,” said Cua-Locsin.
On the other hand, Zamora said the agreement would further promote educational and cultural advancement.
“We are sharing the skills and talents of our officials and students and even the alumni. They are a rich source of talents,” said Zamora./PN
