ILOILO City – The city government in collaboration with MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) switched on two twin giant Christmas trees at Plaza Libertad and Jaro Plaza.
The lighting ceremony on Dec. 15 was led by MORE Power president and chief executive officer Roel Castro, Mayor Jerry P. Treñas’ Executive Assistant Raisa Treñas-Chu, Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, and other city officials.
The Twin Christmas Tree project is an embodiment of MORE Power’s commitment to the spirit of unity, sustainability and engagement with the city’s vibrant community.
Building upon the success of last year’s “Unity and Harmony Christmas Trees” constructed from recycled materials that echo the city’s sustainable vision, this year’s project takes the concept further by creating an interactive and visually captivating experience.
On behalf of the city government, Treñas-Chu expressed her gratitude to MORE Power for the partnership that brought smiles and joy to the Ilonggos.
Castro, for his part, assured their continuous support to the city and its development.
“MORE Power will always be your partner, we will always go out of our way to make sure that we are one with the local leadership as far as Iloilo is concerned,” said Castro.
He also congratulated Mayor Treñas and the Sangguniang Panlungsod for the transformational leadership that have become a benchmark of other local government units./PN
