ILOILO City – The city government offers free “walking tours” from Plaza Libertad to the Iloilo provincial capitol grounds in the City Proper passing Calle Real that is dotted with heritage buildings.

The tours are from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Thursday but those interested must register first through contact number 09120104334 or email jhonalyn21alapar@gmail.com for confirmation.

For each tour, a group of 10 people will be accommodated.

The “walking tours” aim to create awareness and appreciation of the city’s rich cultural heritage and history.

Mayor Jerry Treñas urged everyone to support tourism promotion as part of economic recovery from the effects of the pandemic.

There will be no schedule on June 9 because tour guides will be attending a seminar.

Tours resume on June 16.

The public is advised to practice health safety protocols such as proper wearing of facemask and hand hygiene./PN
