BACOLOD City – The city government’s Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) served notices of violation to 20 business establishments along Lacson Street.

Seventeen received their first notice while three received their second notice, according to Stela Rose Rayos, BPLO head.

On Friday, Aug. 11, the BPLO, together with the Department of Social Services and Development, the City Legal Office (CLO), and Police Station 2, conducted a random inspection of bars and videoke establishments on the 17th, 18th, 27th, and 9th streets.

Rayos said their inspection aims to ensure that these establishments have permits and do not serve liquor to minors.

Those who received the notices were advised to visit the BPLO and process their mayor’s permit within three days of receipt.

The BPLO clarified that none have been issued a closure order yet.

Earlier on Aug. 4, 11 business establishments along Lizares Street, situated within a 200-meter radius of a school, were issued notices for selling liquor to minors.

City Ordinance No. 450, Series of 2007, prohibits and penalizes the sale of liquor, beer, or other intoxicants to a person below the age of 18, and to all ages if the establishment is within 200 meters of the school./PN
