ILOILO City – To support flower vendors during the Valentine’s Day rush, Mayor Jerry Treñas has issued Executive Order No. 018 temporarily allowing flower vending in designated areas on February 13 and 14.
Joy Fantilaga, the mayor’s spokesperson, announced that vendors may sell flowers in designated areas.
These areas include vacant lots along Arroyo Street in the City Proper, and inside the Jaro Plaza from the bandstand to the Graciano Lopez Jaena monument.
Flower vendors can also sell at the children’s playground fronting the police station on Oñate Street in Mandurriao district, inside the plaza beside the basketball court in Molo district, and inside the plaza across the police station in Sta. Filomena, Arevalo district.
Vendors are also allowed in peripheral sections of the seven public markets: Arevalo, Molo, Mandurriao, La Paz, Jaro, Central, and Terminal Markets.
Vendors must secure a barangay clearance, cedula, and a special permit, which must be visibly displayed at their stalls.
The Iloilo City Public Safety and Order Management Office (POSMO) and the Traffic Transportation Management Office (TTMO) will oversee the identification of vending locations, conduct inspections to ensure compliance, and manage necessary actions.
Fantilaga noted the city government encourages vendors to adhere to the guidelines and urges the public to support local flower businesses in the approved locations.
Vendors with inquiries or seeking permits may contact the Special Services Division of the City Mayor’s Office./PN
