ILOILO City – If there is something strange in your neighborhood, who are you going to call?

The city government has formed a Quick Response Team (QTR). Equipped with two patrol cars, it is tasked to respond to emergency situations at any given time.

“City government departments or offices operate only until 5 p.m. But there are situations beyond 5 p.m. that need the city government’s action such as traffic violations,” said Mayor Jose Espinosa III.

Working in tandem with the city government’s complaint center, the Quick Response Team is made up of personnel from various departments such as Task Force on Anti-Squatting and Illegal Structures (TF Asis), Public Safety and Transportation and Management Office (PSTMO) and Iloilo City Police Office, among others.

“We could be the first local government unit in the country to have a 24-hour Quick Response Team. We want to let the public feel their city government is operating round the clock,” said Espinosa.

The mayor also announced the procurement of a 30-seater bus. It would be used to, among others, service city government guests.

It may also be utilized on official trips of city officials.

“For example sa tourism, may mga bisita kita. Indi na kita magpanglagas-lagas panghulam kay may ara na kita. Kag kun may mga aktibidades kita para sa bisita kag sa inyo man, may ara na kita,” said Espinosa./PN
