ILOILO City – The city government plans to establish a new department to oversee offices with interrelated public safety functions.
City Administrator Hernando Galvez identified some of these offices as the Transportation Management and Traffic Regulation Office (TMTRO), Task Force on Anti-illegal Structures (TF Asis) and Special Services Unit (SSU), among others.
“We are open to the possibility of creating a Public Safety Department kay natalupangdan nga may pila ka task forces or units nga inter-related ang trabaho,” said Galvez.
A head may be identified to oversee the functions of all these units or divisions.
Galvez said Human Resources Department head Leo Elevencione already forwarded a request to the city council for the creation of a Public Safety Department.
“We will effect changes para sa ikaayo sang aton publiko. Resulta ini sang wala puhay nga pagtuon sang aton mayor para ma-address ang mga problema,” said Galvez, such as road obstructions, traffic congestion and illegal structures, among others./PN
