ILOILO City – A closure order was issued to an establishment at Aurora Subdivision in Barangay Villa Anita, City Proper, for violating the guidelines set in the city’s Regulation Ordinance No. 2012-180, or liquor ban for minors.

The D&J Jungle Bistro was padlocked on Wednesday, Dec. 20, for allowing minors to enter and be served with alcoholic beverages.

Three minors were rescued during the random inspection and joint enforcement by the Iloilo City Police Station 1-Women and Children Protection Desk and Task Force on Moral Values and Formation (TFMVF).

They were then turned over to their parents after being counseled by a “nanay pulis.”

The restobar was among the five establishments served with notices last week following reports of them selling liquor near schools.

Nestor Canong, TFMVF head, said complaints from parents, teachers, homeowners, and barangay officials regarding the issue have also reached the city mayor’s office.

Establishing and maintaining beer houses 500 linear meters away from schools is prohibited under the city’s Regulation Ordinance No. 2013-065. (With reports from Aksyon Radyo Iloilo)/PN
