ILOILO City – The city government plans to open satellite offices of the City Treasurer’s Office in malls.
Mayor Jerry Treñas instructed City Treasurer Jinny Hermano and Senior Executive Assistant Francis Cruz to talk to prospective malls and check the availability of space for the office.
“By making the City Treasurer’s Office more accessible to taxpayers, we hope to further improve the collection of business tax and real property tax,” said Treñas.
This set up is also more convenient for the taxpayers, he added, “Para indi na sila hala kadto diri sa city hall.”
The prospect malls are Robinsons Place (City Proper and Jaro branches), SM City Iloilo and Festive
Walk Mall in Mandurriao district.
Treñas hopes to open the satellite office in time for the renewal of business permits next month.
Congestion of taxpayers is a frequent challenge at the City Treasurer’s Office at city hall.
