City’s beautification head resigns

ILOILO City – The head of the city government’s Beautification Team tendered her resignation.

Mayor Jerry Treñas confirmed he accepted the resignation of Ninda Atinado, his executive assistant for beautification.

“It is with regret that I accept the resignation of Ms. Ninda Atinado. I have worked with her for a long time and she has served the city since the time of former mayor Mansueto Malabor,” Treñas said.

Atinado’s reason for resigning was yet unclear.

She was one of two city hall personnel facing investigation for alleged lending activities at city hall.

Citing sworn affidavits from complainants/witnesses, the investigating team found a merit to formally investigate Atinado.

Atinado denied the allegation but City Legal Officer Atty. Edgar Gil recommended that a formal investigation be conducted.

Treñas earlier explained that a formal investigation was necessary so proper recommendations could be made.

Meanwhile, according to investigating team head Atty. Joseph Edward Areño, six witnesses have submitted their sworn affidavits relative to the issue./PN
