ANTIQUE – Classes were canceled in five municipalities of this province on Monday due to heavy rains. Affected towns were San Remigio, Tobias Fornier, Hamtic, Sibalom, and Anini-y.
According to Thunderstorm Advisory No. 14 from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration at 1:33 p.m. on Monday, Antique, as well as the provinces of Capiz and Aklan, experienced moderate to heavy rain showers measuring 5.5 to 7.5 liters per meter per hour. These showers were accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
The public was advised to take precautionary measures against potential flash floods and landslides./PN
