BACOLOD City – A physical therapy clinic and a printing establishment has been padlocked for operating with a fake business permit and without a business permit, respectively.
They have not acted on the two notices of violation that the city government’s Permits and Licensing Division has issued them, stressed the division head, Stela Rose Rayos.
E.S. Print Media, Inc. on 6th Street, Barangay 7 was using a “fake permit,” Rayos told Panay News on Wednesday.
On the other hand, Active Life Chicago Physical Therapy Clinic on B.S. Aquino Drive, Barangay Villamonte did not have a business permit at all, she said.
The Permits and Licensing Division recommended the closure of these establishments. The Enforcement Unit of the City Legal Office enforced the closures on Tuesday, said Rayos.
According to Rayos, E.S. Print Media, Inc. told her office they did not know their business permit was fake. They hired an accounting firm to process it, the printing company said.
Both establishments will be allowed to operate again once they have secured a legitimate business permit from the local government, said Rayos.
A restaurant was in a similar situation last month – the City Legal Office also padlocked the food establishment for operating without a business permit.
The restaurant was allowed to open after securing the document, said Rayos.
Having such establishments padlocked will serve as a warning to businesses operating without paying their dues to the local government, said the city hall official.
The Permits and Licensing Division conducts inspection among businesses randomly to check their compliance with city hall requirements, she said./PN
