ILOILO City – An executive assistant (EA) and an employee of the city government face a formal investigation.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said he already received the report of the investigating team lead by Atty. Joseph Edward Areño whom he tasked to investigate the alleged lending activities with illegal conditions at the city hall.
Based on the report, Treñas named his executive assistant, Ninda Atinado, as one of the two to be formally investigated.
The city mayor noted that since Atinado denied the allegation against her, a formal investigation is necessary as per City Legal Officer Atty. Edgar Gil.
“Since there is an (alleged) offense kag considering gina-deny na tanan ni Mrs. Atinado, si Atty. Gil naghambal nga dapat may formal investigation. So ginapreparar na tanan ang sulat sang abogado sa kay Mrs. Atinado kag sa iban pa nga involved para ma-formalize ang investigation and after that a recommendation will be made,” Treñas explained.
He noted that the formal investigation is necessary so proper recommendations will be made and the involved will be given due process.
Meanwhile, according to Areño, six witnesses have submitted their sworn affidavits relative to the issue.
The other one facing probe is another city hall employee who faces a complaint before the Office of the Ombudsman filed by a private complainant.
The unnamed employee was allegedly using his official time while doing his lending activity, Areño said./PN
