There is progress in the gathering, vetting and piecing together of the evidences in the murder of businesswoman Claire Diergos, says Police Staff Master Sergeant Francis Lindero, spokesperson of the Special Investigation Team formed to get to the bottom of this slay case.

ILOILO – The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) is confident of soon filing charges against certain personalities for the death of 36-year-old businesswoman Claire Diergos.

“Nagasanag na ang mga hitsura sang sining mga persona nga naghimo sining krimen,” said Police Staff Master Sergeant Francis Lindero, SIT spokesperson.

He declined to say how many persons of interest or suspects the SIT has but said the movements of these personalities were being monitored.

There is progress in the gathering, vetting and piecing together of the evidences, said Lindero but without giving away details so as not to jeopardize the investigation.

Na-puzzle sang aton Special Investigation Team. We are (thus) giving you the best hope sa pag-solve sang kaso,” Lindero told reporters on Friday.

He, however, did not give a timeline when the charges would be filed.

“Nagapangayo sang diutay nga leeway ang naga-conduct sang scientific kag technical examination sang pila ka mga ebidensya agud matipon as circumstantial evidence kag madiga na naton ang kaso,” said Lindero.

Included in these evidences was the dash cam of Diergo’s Montero Sport vehicle. Lindero was understandably mum at the moment on the audio and video footages it captured.

The SIT spokesperson also confirmed that the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Anti-Cyber Crime Unit is working with them to retrieve the messages or conversations in Diergo’s Facebook and Messenger accounts.

The assistance of the National Telecommunications Commission was also sought for the retrieval Diergo’s text messages and the calls she made.

The angles that the SIT is pursuing are jealousy/revenge, robbery with homicide, crime of passion, and Diergo’s business dealings.

Diergos, a single mother, was found dead inside her Montero Sport in Barangay Inangayan, Santa Barbara on Oct. 26.

She was believed to have been killed inside her house at Deca Homes Subdivision in Barangay Pandac, Pavia town./PN
