BACOLOD City – At least 3,400 employees of the provincial government of Negros Occidental have a reason to rejoice this Christmas season after all.

The Provincial Legal Office approved the draft for the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) between the provincial government and the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE).

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson already signed the endorsement letter for the CNA and this would be submitted to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), said Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz.

The CNA bonus will be tackled during the SP’s regular session next week.

According to Diaz, employees may get no less than P25,000 depending on the savings from the maintenance and other operating expenses or MOOE, as allowed by the Department of Budget and Management and the Commission on Audit.

The MOOE covers travel expenses, communication expenses, repairs and maintenance, transportation expenses supplies and materials, advertising, printing and publication, and subscription.

As for the grant of extra bonuses for capitol employees, Diaz said they are still waiting for an order from the national government.

“If approved, bonuses would be handed over to the employees before the year ends,” he added.

Earlier, provincial government employees received their 14th month bonus and an additional P5,000 as part of their Performance Enhancement Incentives or PEI./PN
