ILOILO City – This summer, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has an advice to beach bums: “Don’t swim when you’re drunk.”
Lieutenant Commander Ramil Palabrica of PCG-Iloilo issued the appeal after a 44-year-old man drowned in Barangay Baguingin, Tigbauan, Iloilo.
From a beach Friday afternoon last week (May 12), Jun Tupas was rushed by relatives to the district hospital in nearby Guimbal town. He died.
Police said Tupas, a resident of Barangay Baguingin, went swimming even if he was drunk./PN
