ILOILO City – For alleged illegal cockfighting, three persons were arrested in Barangay Lumbia, Estancia, Iloilo yesterday.
All were residents of the village: Edelberto Barrios, 43; Belly Magbanua, 48; and Ereneo Bentolan, 57.
They were taken to the Estancia police station.
Police recovered two dead game fowls and P410 cash from the suspects around 1:30 p.m.
Charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449, or the Cockfighting Law of 1974 were being readied against the suspects./PN
