ILOILO – A 21-year-old college student was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after losing control of his motorcycle and bumping into a truck in Barangay Lico-an, Barotac Nuevo, around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19.
According to Police Captain Cedric Cruz, chief of the Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station, alias “Kevin”, a resident of Banate town, was attempting to overtake a truck when he suddenly lost control of his motorcycle, fell off, and hit his head on the pavement. His motorcycle then collided with the truck.
“The victim was not wearing a helmet, which contributed to the severity of his injuries,” Cruz said.
Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction toward Anilao town at the time of the accident.
Meanwhile, the truck driver from Ajuy town is now in police custody as authorities continue their investigation./PN
