SAN JOSE, Antique – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) started distributing official ballots and poll paraphernalia to 18 municipalities in the province.

Comelec acting provincial supervisor Wil Arceño said treasurers of each municipality received the election paraphernalia on Friday.

“We have a total of 714 clustered precincts in Antique where these official ballots will be used,” Arceño said.

He noted the election paraphernalia, such as Voter Information Sheets, were first distributed to municipal election officers on May 2.

“We also delivered indelible inks to the municipal treasurers,” he added.

Arceño said the Vote Counting Machines meanwhile will be delivered next week.

According to the poll agency, Antique remains peaceful since the poll period started.

“The province remains peaceful except for residents complaining of loud mobile sound systems used by local candidates to campaign” Arceño said. (With a report from PNA/PN)
