BACOLOD City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Negros Occidental is preparing for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on May 14.

Certificates of candidacy, or COCs, may be filed from April 14 to 20, Provincial Election Officer Jessie Suarez said, citing their calendar based on Comelec En Banc Resolution No. 1046.

The campaign period shall be from May 4 to 12, Suarez said.

Jan. 26 will be the “last day for the petition for inclusion of legitimate voters” while Feb. 2 will be the deadline for the “exclusion of voters,” he said./PN
