SEBASTE, Antique – The Sebaste Community Hospital (SCH) temporarily stopped accepting new patients beginning July 13.

“The hospital will undergo general cleaning and disinfection for the safety of its staff and clientele,” a statement from the hospital management read.

It did not say when SCH would resume accepting patients.

The community hospital also temporarily stopped the operation of its Animal Bite and Treatment Center (ABTC), ultrasound and x-ray services.

Its emergency room and out-patient services, however, would continue operating.

“The hospital will resume its in-patient and animal bite services as soon as the safety of the general public is ensured,” stressed SCH. “Your health and safety is our topmost priority.”

As of July 11, Sebaste had 11 active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). These were from the barangays of Poblacion (five), Aras-asan (three), Bacalan (one), Idio (one), and Abiera (one).

“Isa ang admitted sa provincial hospital, isa man ang sa quarantine facility kag siyam sa kadya ang sa idalum kang strict home quarantine,” said Gaseva Recopuerto.

Recopuerto urged Sibalomnons to observe the minimum health standards – wearing of facemask and face shield in public, physical distancing and proper washing of hands./PN
