Gearing up for the political bottom line
As the political fever rises and heats up, it is also timely to reflect not just on political strategies, but also on the political bottom line. Politics, with all its enticing realities of fame, power and fortune, actually never lasts. However, at the end of the spectrum, when all political relevancies end, what is of real essence is to actually get elected to what matters most in this life.
Applying the Drones Technology in Political Elections
In our world today, there are few things more iconic than drones. Drones are now heavily used in modern-day warfare, as in the case of Russia-Ukraine war.
Interestingly now, letâs compare these war drones to our modern-day politicians who has also mastered their own version of “political warfare”. Youâll be amazed of their uncanny similarities.
Scanning the Horizon
Drones, before they strike, take their time to observe from high above, scanning the battlefield for the perfect target. They don’t rush in; they wait until they have a clear view before diving in.
Modern-day politicians, also scan the horizonâbut not for enemies. Theyâre scanning for political advantages, new political alliances, current public opinions which they can turn to their favor, and maximize benefits to their personal portfolios. Politicians always scan which side is offering the juiciest benefits before they finally strike their target.
Target Identification
Drones, once it has surveyed the field, then locks onto a target with laser-like precision. There’s no hesitation. The mission is clearâneutralize the enemy.
Politicians, similarly zero in on their targetsâexcept that these targets are usually things
like political votes, pork barrel funds, or the perfect time to grandstand for media mileage.
Precision and political timing here is also key. A miscalculation can ruin oneâs chances in the next election.
Striking the Target
Drones launch its strike once the target is locked. It doesnât get distracted; it follows through with speed and efficiency.
Politicians, however, are masters of the delayed strike. They will wait, maneuver, and launch speeches aimed to gain electoral points with the right crowd. The politicianâs promises are very calculated to realize maximum recall, effect, impact and ROIs.
Avoiding Casualties
Drones always strike, avoiding collateral damage. It offers a âminimal effort, maximum impactâ, and a âless pain-all gainâ strategy.
Similarly, politicians avoid âcollateral damageââbut damage here usually means in the form of displeasing voters and losing their votes. They will not offend anyone important,
or rock-the-boat of their political future, so they simply avoid real issues at hand.
The Post-Op Flight
Drones, after a strike, return to base with minimal fuss. They donât linger; they return silently after a job well done.
Politicians, on the other hand are the opposites. They donât disappear but are back to bask in the glory of the results. They never rest but always watch opinion polls, focus groups, and the occasional backroom deals.
They knew what the public is saying, and what their rivals are doing; Like drones, they never stop gathering data to ensure their political relevance.
The Modern-Day Battlefield
In the grand scheme of things, the battlefield of modern politics and territorial wars isnât that different.
Drones have the advantage of precision and speed, while politicians play the long game of calibrating, planning, campaigning, all for another three years of a temporary term only. Then the cycle begins again.
Comparing drones to politicians is really, really amusing. The approach may be different but the goal is similar: to win their war, albeit temporarily for a term that actually never last at all.
Conclusion: Politicians must win what matters most
So, what if a seasoned politician wins all elections on earth, but which all the gains they achieved will just be erased and lost in human memory after only ten years or less. In the end, people only choose what they want to remember and acknowledge.
Letâs get real. itâs not really winning the political war that matters most. The bottom line is, what kind of war is really worth fighting for in this life? An election victory is only temporary. Itâs only nice while it lasts. There must be more to life than this.
But thereâs a real, significant âelectionâ war every politician must really win âfor all the marblesâ, and which the reward is eternal, and which gains can never be taken away.
Wouldnât it be nice, for a change, that a really wise politician also pursues winning first the war for the things that are ETERNAL, in this life and life hereafter?
In retrospect, let me paraphrase a biblical truth in Mark 8:36, to highlight its relevance: âWhat does it profit a shrewd politician, even if he repeatedly wins all elections in this planet, again and again and again, and if in exchange he also morally compromised heavily, only to lose his own election to Godâs redemption?â
THIS IS GODâS ULTIMATE STANDARD: A political fool is one who dedicates his life only for temporal gains that ultimately, he cannot keep. A wise politician is one who dedicates his life for an ETERNAL gain, that ultimately, he can never lose./PN
