ANTIQUE – The construction of the P960-million three-story capitol building of the provincial government of Antique is in full swing and is targeted for completion in September this year.
Provincial Engineer Inocencio Dajao Jr. said yesterday that the project in Barangay Badiang, San Jose de Buenavista has a 30 percent accomplishment rate with a minimal slippage of 5 percent due to inclement weather.
“The target for the completion of the capitol is September 2025 with the building of the foundation, embankment, and structural steel already done,” he said.
The new capitol building will house about 20 offices.
The provincial government under Gov. Rhodora Cadiao decided to build a new capitol outside the business center of San Jose de Buenavista as the old building is already 60 years old and the area has too much congestion.
Cadiao, in previous interviews, said the 6.4-hectare lot purchased by the provincial government in Barangay Badiang would be a one-stop shop because it would also accommodate other national government offices and the Hall of Justice. (PNA)
