KALIBO, Aklan – Police arrested a construction worker in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pook here.
The 32-year-old Jonel Olaguir – resident of Barangay Poblacion – was nabbed after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover cop for P1,500 on June 26, a police report showed.
When frisked, the suspect yielded another sachet of suspected illegal drugs, it added.
Major Frensy Andrade, chief of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, said Olaguir was placed under surveillance for six months.
“Noong January pa under surveillance ang suspek. Nakatunog siya sa amin, nag lie low at doon siya halos sa New Washington,” he said.
“Doon siya kumukuha ng drug items sa kabilang probinsiya,” Andrade added.
The suspect was detained in the lockup cell of the municipal police station here, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
“Expected na natin na babalik ang droga sa Aklan. Ang ating mga drug pusher doon kumukuha sa ibang probinsiya. Mag-silbing leksyon sana ito sa suspek. Kawawa naman ang pamilya niya,” Andrade stressed. (With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
