ILOILO City – A construction worker was hacked to death in Barangay Santa Ana, Batad, Iloilo.
The 49-year-old Salvador Chavez of Barangay Batad Viejo, Batad, Iloilo died of hack wounds on the body, a police report showed.
His colleague 59-year-old Nelson Catalan was tagged as the suspect, the report added.
According to police investigators, a heated argument ensued between Chavez and Catalan around 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 15.
This prompted Catalan to hack Chavez, police said.
The motive in the incident was not immediately established.
Officers of the Batad municipal police station conducted a manhunt operation against Catalan, who fled after the incident./PN
