ILOILO City – A construction worker was shot dead in Barangay Sambag, Jaro district.
The 30-year-old Rene Granja of Barangay Dungon C, Mandurriao district died of a gunshot wound on the chest on Sunday.
The shooting happened at 7 p.m.
According to Police Officer Romarico Baron Jr. of Jaro, Granja had a heated argument with three motorcycle-riding men who stopped by the roadside to light a cigarette while the victim was walking home with a companion.
After the shooting, the three men sped away.
Granja was taken to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district where he died.
One of the three suspects had been identified – Frederick Jabadan, 33, of Barangay Sambag.
Baron said the Jaro police launched a manhunt./PN
