ROXAS City – His fellow construction worker stabbed him to death, police said.
The 28-year-old Jade Cervas of Barangay San Roque, Tapaz, Capiz sustained multiple stab wounds on the chest and stomach, a police report showed.
Cervas was rushed to the Tapaz District Hospital where the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
The stabbing happened on the national highway in Barangay Poblacion, Tapaz around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, police said.
The police identified the suspect as the 21-year-old Ariel Olog of Barangay Roxas, Tapaz.
Old grudge was the motive in the stabbing, according to investigators.
Cervas, Olog and companion Elvin Jimenez, 35, had a drinking binge at a KTV bar prior to the stabbing.
They were on their way home on board a motorcycle driven by Cervas when Olog said he would pee.
The motorcycle stopped. Olog got off the vehicle, suddenly took a knife tucked in his waist and started stabbing Cervas.
Olog also attacked Jimenez but the latter managed to dodge.
Police were still hunting Olog as of this writing./PN
