ILOILO City – A construction worker was allegedly stabbed dead by his two co-workers on 38 Street, Block 5, Lot 17 in Westwood Subdivision, Barangay Dungon C, Mandurriao district yesterday.
Melward Juson, a resident of Barangay Santiago, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, succumbed to stab wound on his back while being treated at the Western Visayas Medical Center.
According to the Mandurriao police, the suspects – brothers Roiven Laste, 25, and Estanly Laste, 22, residents of Barangay Quinabonglan, Maayon, Capiz – remained at large.
According to Mandurriao police chief Captain Val Cambel, the incident happened around 2 p.m. at their barracks.
“Nag-transfer (room) man ang upod sang victim and later may nabati-an sila nga gahod and when they checked nakita nila ang victim nga may dugo,” Cambel told Panay News.
He added: “Nag-inaway na sila two weeks ago kag nagdumot siguro ang mag-utod, amo na nga ginbuno nila samtang nagakatulog.”
