Construction worker, ‘ukay-ukay’ vendor yield ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – Three sachets of suspected shabu were seized from a construction worker and an ukay-ukay vendor in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district.

Jovie Muana, 32, the vendor, was a resident of Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro district while Rolando Gonzales, 37, the construction worker, was a resident of Barangay Rizal, La Paz district.

The Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Mandurriao police was conducting surveillance at around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 31. The suspects attempted to flee, making the cops suspicious.

 Two heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu were confiscated from Muana, and one heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu was recovered from Gonzales.

The suspects are now in the custody of Iloilo City Police Station 5 and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
